MERRY CHRISTMAS!

TIS THE SEASON...
Merry Christmas everyone! I really wanted to do a personal holiday post this year but lack and confliction of time between me and my main blogger photographer precluded this from happening. Regardless here are some Holiday joy inspirational pics for you! Hope you all had/have a great holiday season!                                                                              photos courtesy of littleplastichorses

RED DENIM

BE BOLD IN RED DENIM
Designers such as Donna Karen, Michael Kors and Theyskens' Theory all allured the runways this Fall with eye catching red pants. Since then, celebrities such as Rachel Bilson, Katie Holmes, Kate Bosworth and even Justin Bieber learned to incorporate this bold look into their wardrobe. While the thought of wearing bright red pants may seem intimidating at first, this pop of color can actually serve as the perfect subtle way to bring color into your winter dressing. You can blame the colors ability to coordinate well with neutral colors such as black, white, taupe and navy for this.

SHEER GREEN

& HINTS OF GOLD
I've always been fond of the color army green and its ability to coordinate well with the majority of clothes in my closet. Its ability to make my gold accessories pop out like no other is another favorable trait I have of the color army green. Likewise, the subtlety and holiday appropriate color will definitely entice me to green it out during the month of December. As for you, is there a particular color that you enjoy wearing time and time again?

SEQUINS UPON SEQUINS

GET GLITZY IN SEQUINS
source unknown, via fashionprose
You know when the new year is approaching when clothes start getting more glittery and sparkly. Hence, when the use of sequins, embellishments and other types of shiny beading get incorporated onto clothes. Sequins have always been somewhat of a trademark of New Years and although the usage of sequins can be overstimulating at times, I have to agree that sequins definitely set the tone for celebration. I personally have never been fond of upper garments made of sequins. Therefore I was pleasantly excited to see stores this year producing more lower garments made of sequins, like in example sequin shorts.

NATIVE PRINTING

STRIPS OF NOMADIC PRINTSNomad, native, tribal and aztec prints -- all which share similar textile ancestries, began heavily re-appearing in fashion this past Spring. Since then, nomadic prints have persisted into following seasons being incorporated on sweaters, cardigans, skirts and now dresses. The simple print's ability to add a bold and blithesome feel to clothing articles makes this pattern as enjoyable as it is fashionable to wear.

THE KNITTED SWEATER

STYLISH COZY, COMFORT
Knitted sweaters have been around forever and have become increasingly more popular throughout the years. My guess why? We realized just how comfortable and easy it is to throw on a sweater while learning ways to transform this once called "grandma" sweater into a stylish go-to piece. I for one have become especially fond of my taupe colored sweater's ability to compliment most lower garments in my wardrobe. Such as my maxi skirt, leather pants/shorts, denim, patterned shorts and even rompers.

WHITE AND LEATHER

BASIC DRESSING
I've been looking for the perfect pair of affordable leather pants (that actually fit right) for the longest time and finally came across some at H&M the other day. I've always been drawn to leather pants for its simple appeal yet ability to give off an edgy vibe. You'd also be surprised at how many pieces you can pull together that go with leather pants, and how even the most basic in apparel can look trendy in appearance solely due to leather pants. Like, a basic white tee for example. So for those looking for a fashionable alternative to denim and leggings, try on some leather pants this fall/winter!
