PAJAMA JAMMIN

Pajama-inspired dressing has been making appearances all over the runways this season, & thank God for this new languid trend. Pajama dressing is just one of the many forgiving trends that offer comfort for fashion.Β From elastic waistbands to flowing fabrics, pajama dressing provides a softer and cozier alternative to denim. While designers such as Karen Walker and Thakoon executed the pajama-inspired trend with full on head to toe looks, other designers such as Michael Kors, Reed Krakoff, and Alexander Wang show how this trend can easily be transferrable to nightlife in an understated way. Meaning yes, this comfortable look is just as versatile as it is wearable.

HOW TO WEAR THE PAJAMA TREND:

1. Think Casual Ease: To further support this pajama trend look, aim to pair your pajama-inspired pants with a simple top. Wearing basic tee’s or casual shirts with minimal detailing works best, especially because most pajama inspired bottoms are printed. You always want the focus to lay in the pajama-inspired clothing article.
2. Be Prim & Proper: To strive away from a literal “pajama” look, always ensure that you look prim and proper before heading out the door. Make sure you look well-put together, and that you’re mixing up your pajama inspired clothing with key pieces that don’t look so “pajama-y”. (in my case, my clogs and vintage belt).
3. Top it off with a Blazer: A simple blazer is the easiest way to create a sophisticated edge to a pajama inspired outfit. Because pajama inspired clothing is also loose and flowy, the structured blazer will help break up proportions.
