Zara silk Top, H&M suede shorts and necklace, L.A.M.B. leather heels, Michael Kors watch and F21 clutch

Sometimes the simplest clothing articles can be jazzed up and not so "simple" through choice of material and color. With the start of Autumn creeping ahead, I decided to go for a neutral color palette: olive green, taupe and black. Although I'm not excited about the colder weather thats approaching, I do have to say I love Fall colors. While some can perceive Fall colors to be more dull and bland, one way to keep your "dull" colored clothing interesting, is by keeping the fabric interesting. Now, how do I plan to keep my fall colored clothing interesting this season? By mixing up textures like suede, silk and leather.

Urban Outfitters skirt, Zara blouse, Forever 21 hat, vintage heels
I was feeling a little whimsical and decided to play around with an old full black skirt I found in my closet from 2008. Decided to play it up with one of my favorite blouses that always seems to go with everything, and some thigh high nylons. Threw on the hat for a last touch of accessory. I somehow managed to look past the fact that I ended up looking like a Japanese school girl. Oh well!

Wearing a bright colored blazer is a great way to brighten up a wardrobe and stand out while maintaining a polished look. The simplicity and versatility of a blazer also makes it easy to wear with just about anything. Pair it with some dark washed skinny jeans for a modern and casual look, or pair it with a white crochet dress for a more playful look. Regardless of how you choose to wear a blazer, mixed with a pop of color, and there you have a perfectly functional and fun article of clothing to wear casually or formally!

Vanity Fair - Italy November 2010 , Necklace by Simon Alcantara for Cosmic Samurai Collection
Statement piece necklaces made its debut in the fashion world, Fall of 2009. Since then, style icons such as Olivia Palermo, Jessica Alba, Leighton Meester and Kim Kardashian have all been sporting this chunky necklace trend. While it all started out with bib like necklaces adorned with chunky beads, jewels and stones, this year the statement piece necklace is getting re-vamped and mixed with todays current trends. With the fringe trend on the rise, designers this year are incorporating the fringe trend into the statement necklace trend making for one eye catching necklace piece.

Kelly Wearstler is by far one my favorite interior designers. Her ability to play with and then ultimately unify various textures, colors, and multi-origin patterns makes for a remarkable statement. Her quirky taste mixed with her luxury lifestyle design has aided her in being a highly recognized designer and an amazing style leader.                                       photo's courtesy of
