BARELY BACKLESS

SHOW OFF YOUR BARE BACK
Megan Fox for Armani Code Pour Femme in an Armani dress, March 2011
Backless dresses and tops have gotten increasingly popular over the past year. The simple, sexy and mysterious appeal of showing off your bare back has attracted and turned heads more so than ever before. Celebrities such as Anne HathawayEmma Stone, and Eva Longoria chose to go full frontal coverage, yet bared the entire back during this years Golden Globes. While all styles and trends first appear on the runway then usually on celebrities, backless encounters have finally made it to the casual aisle in retail making for some effortlessly sexy tops.

HELMUT LANG SPRING/SUMMER 2012

SPORTY ASYMMETRY
Helmut Lang has always been one of my favorite designers. His ability to keep things simple, but edge it up through interesting forms, textures and cuts is inspiring. His clever use of asymmetry mixed with his draping techniques makes this collection one of my favorites. Loving the effortless, relaxed appeal of it.                                                                              photos courtesy of fashionising.com

FALL INTO FALL

IN A COZY, OVERSIZED SWEATER
Kate Bosworth; source unknown
I always look forward to Fall because of Fall fashion. It's the season of layering, cozying up in knitwear and scarves and toning down on colors. With the prelude of Fall, I decided to dress up a Fall sweater with a summer basic. Knitted sweater with a rayon skirt. Sometimes it can be difficult to pull a put-together look with an oversized sweater without coming off "too casual". Therefore, my take on Fall fashion this year will be finding new creative ways to dress up a casual, oversized sweater. Wearing it with a skirt is just one way I plan to do this... until it gets too cold that is

NEW YORK MINUTE

DAY 1: SHOPPING IN SOHO
Taking a break, sitting inside Uniqlo and catching up on my twitter/texts/facebook on my mobile
I took advantage of my first day by shopping in SoHo. Being on a time crunch, I decided to only stop by stores I don't have back in San Francisco. Uniqlo and TopShop were my top priority, followed by a bunch of boutiques down the street.
I've always been fond of the interior architectural set-up of Uniqlo so decided to stop in a mirrored corner to snap some photos
On our way to Cafe Habana (a cafe well known for their mexican corn). We came across this street & I instantly fell in love with their brick paved flooring and decided to stop to take some photo's.
DAY 2: TIMES SQUARE & CENTRAL PARK
Urban Outfitters dress, H&M scarf, F21 belt & necklace, Rebecca Minkoff Mac Clutch, Elizabeth & James lafayette shades, Topshop ballet flats (pictured below)
The weather was absolutely gorgeous Friday, so we decided to walk all around New York and visited Times Square, Bryant Park, Central Park and etc. There were a lot of touristy stuff going on this day making the day quite interesting...
Him picking me up was totally his idea not mine haha.
In Central Park, on top of the rocks near the playground
NIGHT 3: IN TIMES SQUARE
TopShop scalloped tank, Bar III pants from Macys, F21 necklace, Dolce Vita wedges, Rebecca Minkoff Mac Clutch

Times Square looks so much different at night than day. The vivid and multi-colored lights displayed throughout the projections on the street really does provide a sense of euphoria that makes New York the sleepless city that it is.
Until next time, so long New York!

Astonish Magazine, Issue 1: Love Lust Desire. Out on Newstands September 27, 2011

So for those that don't know, I also work for Astonish Magazine. Astonish is a start-up fashion and art magazine which showcases new emerging artists and talents (in the fashion and art industry) through our print magazine and AstonishWorld, an online social networking site. We had our launch event in New York City, Sept 7 at the Gansevoort Hotel. All guests received goody bags & an advanced premier copy of our first print issue which will be publicly released all over U.S newsstands Sept 27. We also had the luxury of working in collaboration with fashion designer Phuong My where she showcased her Spring/Summer 2012 collection at our event. Overall, Astonish' launch event was a huge success and surely "astonishing".

NEW YORK PREVIEW

DAY 1
American Apparel circle scarf & lace bandeau, Alternative Apparel tank, Rebecca Minkoff MAC Mini Clutch, Marc Jacobs watch, lace shorts from Sway
I've been incredibly busy the past week and a half, being in Vegas and then New York back-to-back. Two very busy and sleepless cities. Yet, I'm finally home and re-adjusting to a more slow-paced life. I have to admit I miss New York, always being on my feet and the hectic lifestyle of having multiple things to do. I've always been one to prefer an extremely busy lifestyle which explains my need to stack up on jobs, tasks, & hobbies, while maintaining an active social life. I guess it goes in conjunction with my obsessive need to always be productive with my time. Anyways, until I figure out how exactly I want to post up all my photos from my trips, I leave you with two photos of me walking the streets of New York city!

THE PERMANENT ACCESSORY

INKED UP
I've been thinking about getting a tattoo for a while now and even saw two of my friends get inked up this weekend. I don't think I'll ever actually get one... but who knows?! All I can say is, given the design and the location of the tattoo, tattoos can be sure damn sexy, and one heck of a permanent "accessory".
