Most of my Christmas parties with friends occurred the weekend after Christmas. Since a few of my friends live in other states, even different countries, it made more sense to have our get togethers after allowing some time for them to readjust back home. I love this time of year for the pure fact that its a time when me and my closest friends all get together and bond before the new year. Thus this outfit was one that I decided to wear during a secret santa exchange with my college friends. I figured something classy and simple would make due for a nice outfit before 2013. I hope you all have a wonderful, and safe New Years! Cheers to 2013!

How are you all spending Christmas today? My whole Dads side lives in Korea and I only have 1 aunt near me so the holidays are always just spent with my immediate family. I used to be envious growing up, seeing my friends attending family parties but realized its also nice to spend time with the family at home. It also gives me time to get overdue chores done around the house. These pants in example are from 2005 and used to be flared (remember when bellbottoms were everywhere)? I've been meaning to alter them into skinny cargo jeans and finally got around to doing it. The timing fit in nicely with my ability to wear them for a somewhat Christmas inspired outfit. Anyways I hope you all have a wonderful and safe holiday season. Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday Jesus! :)

I wore this dress to a company holiday party last weekend and found myself to be very comfortable. The pleated details along with the bubble skirt shape made it easy for me to eat lavishly while hiding my big belly full of food. Although I wore it with a dark gray trench coat day of the event, I figured pairing it with a leather jacket would help neutralize the look during the day. I still can't believe how Christmas is approaching next Tuesday. How far are you guys on Holiday shopping?

I finished my first semester of grad school this past weekend! It felt amazing leaving class on Sunday realizing how much I've accomplished in just 3.5 months. This Christmas since I'm experiencing financial pains of an unemployed full-time student, I've been forbidding myself to buy anything for myself. Thus, everything I'm wearing is old. My jacket and boots were purchased in Korea last year and everything else I'm wearing are some of my wardrobe basics. While I love purchasing trendy pieces, I definitely get more wear and use from all my basics. Simple items such as my scarf, leather pants, and cotton tees are what I call investment pieces since they'll never fade out of style.

Finally started doing some Christmas shopping this weekend. Purposely wore super casual clothes knowing I'd be walking a lot this day.
J. Crew shirtTopshop tank, Forever leggings and Urban Outfitters boots.

I took these at Stern Grove park yesterday while walking around. I was wondering why the whole park was so murky and moist then shortly realized, duh a storm just passed through SF (it was raining cats and dogs days prior). Although rainy, I went out to a nightclub for a friends birthday Saturday night where I unexpectedly ran into a bunch of my other friends, and others whom I haven't seen in years. The randomness made for one fun (and tiring) night, so the last thing I wanted to do Sunday was wear anything but tight-fitting clothes. These trousers have always catered to be a perfect substitute for my lazy days and this oversized American Apparel shirt never disappoints.

AA pocket tee, American Eagle scarf (last years but similar here & here), H&M trousers (sized up for oversized fit - similar here), H&M belt, Alexander Wang handbag, Dolce Vita oxfords
