3 HOLIDAY APPROPRIATE OUTFITS

Ever wonder what to wear to a holiday gathering? If so, then this post is for you! When dressing for a holiday occasion you should keep it simple, chic and on theme. An easy way to do this is to ensure your outfit consists of a color that’s related to the holidays like green, red or gold. Oxblood red is one of my favorite colors to wear in December since the deep hue compliments most skin tones and creates a warm and rich feeling. Other colors that are great at this time is anything sparkly, forest green, and earth tones. Now that we have the color down, let’s get down to the pieces. Depending on how formal the event is, below are three easy outfits I recommend wearing to any and all holiday gatherings!

3 Holiday Appropriate Outfit Ideas:

  • A solid colored dress or jumpsuit: This is perfect for formal and semi-formal gatherings like a holiday party. The 1-piece outfit makes getting ready a breeze and wearing one in red or green immediately gives you a holiday feel! I particularly love this off-the-shoulder jumpsuit in burgundy and this Asos tube top dress in emerald green.
  • Blouse & skirt: one of the easiest and safest outfit combinations to wear since you’re dressy without being overly dressy. I try to mix fabrics when wearing this outfit so there’s a nice contrast. My outfit in particular consists of a polyester blouse and a leather skirt. Nylons also help keep your legs warm and hide those pale legs.
  • Cable-knit sweater & skinny jeans: I love wearing cable knit sweaters in fall and winter (old post example here) because it’s such an effortlessly fashionable piece. This B.P cableknit sweater with puffed sleeves and this J.O.A off the shoulder sweater would pair perfectly with some black jeans for a casual holiday outing.

What’s the secret to making any outfit combination is chic? Throwing on some heels with it. 😉
