WHAT TO WEAR WITH CULOTTES

Wearing Zara culottes (similar here & here), ASTR the Label top (similar here), Chanel classic flap bag and slingback sandals (similar here), and Daniel Wellington petite ashfield watch.

One of my favorite type of pants to wear are culottes. They’re the most professional and comfortable pants I own and I wear them all the time (example here & here). The great thing about culottes too is that they’re cropped which benefits us shorter ladies. I didn’t even have to hem these! Culottes are a trend that not everyone owns, but something I think everyone should own. The minute you put them on, you’ll understand why.

Whenever I wear culottes I stick to certain style rules to ensure I look put together. So today, I’m going to share some styling tips so when you decide to wear culottes you’ll know exactly how to style them!

How to Style Culotte Pants from Head to Toe:

  • Top: Crop tops, blouses and simple tops in a solid color tend to pair best with culottes. The style of the top will most likely depend on where you’re planning to wear the outfit. The easiest way I think about it is: crop tops = social activities or vacation, blouses = work appropriate, and simple tops = casual, leisurely wear. Also, always make sure to tuck your top in. It’ll look better, trust me.
  • Jacket: Structured, cropped or jackets with a collar tend to look best with culottes. Some examples are a blazer, cropped leather jacket or a moto jacket. If you don’t own any of these another great option is to pair it with a sweater. This is one of my favorite ways to style culottes because it screams chic and comfort. If wearing a sweater do a half tuck with the front of the sweater (example here).
  • Shoes: Heels and loafers tend to look best with culottes. Heels help elongate your figure and elevate the look, and loafers are a great flat option that maintains the polished look of culottes. The types of shoes I avoid wearing with culottes are boots, sneakers, and espadrilles. I have tried to style my culottes with these types of shoes, and it never looks right.

I hope these style tips help! Let me know if you try any of the tips out and let me know how it goes!
